“This has been a great bike rack. I recently hauled it all the way from Utah to Florida and back and didn't have any issues other than not being able to open my E350 doors 100%, but that wasn't a big deal. My one critique is that the anti-sway adjustment needs a lever integrated into the bolt rather than having to carry around a 17mm socket wrench everywhere I go. I might weld one onto the bolt and see how it goes. Kid bikes also get a little tricky, I ended up using a ratchet tie-down to keep the rear wheel in place and it worked fine. Maybe some sort of adapter would be nice though? I got a lot of kids so might just be a 'me problem'. If you are hauling around standard mtn bikes nothing is even close to this as far as quality, utility, and capacity. I also love the wall mount.”

“The rack is purely amazing. Works great, the hydraulic dampers work great. Easy to drop load and push back up. I had the Yakima hang over and returned it for the velocirax, which is safer to drop a fully loaded rack. Although I did knock the bike rack 1 star because you have to have an adapter to drop the tailgate which lowers the rack closer to the ground, also I wish they used a ratcheting system for the tire tie downs as the straps are a bit tough to use compared to yakimas lower tire tie down system, also wish velocirax used a foot pedal to drop rack as the hand one puts you way up between the bikes to drop the rack, which can make you a bit nervous when it unlocks. All together this is the best rack in the market”

“I bought the rack in late fall so we haven’t used it much on our truck but it has been fantastic in the rack configuration. It was easy to assemble with limited support from one of my 11 year olds. It’s well made and I’m confident it has a long life ahead. The only concern I have is the effort it takes to lift the loaded rack into the lock position; with 6 bikes on it my wife and I couldn’t get it up and locked. We had to take off a bike to make it light enough to lift and that makes it more difficult to get the last bike onto the raised rack. Might be my excuse to buy lighter bikes : )”

We have found that pushing a fully loaded bike rack is easier when pushing up from the bike frames. Having a pal to help is also a huge help! But if you need an excuse to buy lighter bikes, we're happy to be the motivating factor ;) Thank you for your review and feedback. Have fun out there!

“The rack is insanely impressive. Incredibly sturdy and secure to the vehicle. The function is excellent. Super quick to load and unload bikes which matters. The lowering system is so cool. Need two people to mount and unmount the rack from the vehicle. I store my bikes on the rack in the garage when not attached to the vehicle. I purchased the lock system which is easy to use (end caps were tough to put on). Their customer service is top-notch. Had an issue with discount which was quickly corrected. Was shorted one strap and they sent another whole pack which was dope. Highly recommend this vertical rack! Love it and hope it will continue to assist my family on future adventures for a long time!”
