“It was suggested to size down on the website so I normally wear at 9 1/2 so I bought size 9. They are really tight to the point where I’m not sure if I can wear them for long periods of time. I think they are ok for casual shoe but not an all day walking around shoe”
Hi Kayla,
Thanks so much for sharing your feedback with us.
We're sorry to hear your Vessis are fitting more snug than you'd hoped. For reference, it’s actually normal for the ankle opening to be a little firm to start! Over the first few wears of your new shoes you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate to tailor to your foot shape. The reason you want this is to make sure no water comes in through the ankle, and the only way to ensure this is if you allow the shoe to mold to your ankle shape. In order to do that, you do need them to be tight at first and then only stretch when they’ve learned your specific foot shape.
Not to worry, after a few more wears the ankle opening will have loosened up to become the perfect fit for your feet. Lots of customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help.
We will be sure to share your feedback with the rest of the team for future design improvements. Thank you again!
“I wore them today to work to stretch them out before my trip to a Ireland . They are super comfortable. Besides getting a little blister on the back of my left foot, I have no complaints, it’s a good purchase.”
“I love the look and feel of the shoes - they're not too bulky, and they work well with the Vancouver rain and puddles. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because I started getting blisters on my heels as the size feels slightly too big and there's not a way to tighten it very well. I am usually at 9.5 shoe and the 9 still gives enough wiggle room that my heel rubs against the back. I'm hopeful I'll get used to the shoe the more I wear it, and then can bump it up to a 5 star review!”
“I do about 10-20k steps a day at my work. I was struggling with foot pain with my other shoes. These have been lifesavers! The best shoes you can get working in the service industry hands down. Plus it was raining and storming like crazy and since I was wearing them, the waterproof affects kept my feet nice and dry. 10/10 recommendation!”
“I like how comfortable it is as well as the fact it is a slip on. I work very early in the morning and often don't have the patience for laces. The added fact that they are water proof means that I don't risk spending my whole day in wet socks.”
