“Waterproof ability works well! The only downside is the back of the shoes where it touches my ankle. It's very stiff and the part that sticks out inwards scratches my ankle and makes it bleed. It doesn't happen when I wear a thick sock, so that's what I do when it rains and when I need to put on vessi.”
“I have a high instep and the cuff around the top was too tight, even with the laces completely loose. I had pins-and-needles / numbness into my big toe. The shoes had to go back.”
Hi Beverly,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We’re sorry to hear you’re finding your Vessis too tight. For some reference, however, it’s actually quite normal for the ankle opening to be a little snug to start. Over the first few wears of your new shoes, you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate your foot shape. By starting tighter, this allows the shoe to mold to your ankle shape - making sure no water seeps in through the ankle opening.
Some customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help. You can also speed up the stretching process by leaving a few pairs of thick socks balled up inside the shoes overnight.
That said, I'll be sure to pass your feedback along to our Product team, as we are always looking to improve. We'll use your insight towards our research and development for our future design improvements.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts on your Vessis with us.
“One of the best pair of shoes I’ve bought so far! I live in a rainy state, so it’s nice to not have to worry about my socks/feet getting soaked! I was surprised that they are 100% waterproof. I was a skeptic at first, but I DEFINITELY recommend giving these a try if it’s something you’re thinking about! The one thing I would like to see is the tongue of these shoes in particular being adjustable, as it was a little snug the first couple of days.”
“Love that my feet stay dry when I’m out on the trails with my class. If you have wider feet the toe area is definitely a little snug but stretched out a bit as I wore them throughout the day”
Hi Ingrid,
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We’re sorry to hear your Vessis aren't providing you the amount of comfort you're looking for, we can imagine how disappointing that must be.
As a casual/city shoe, Vessis do provide relatively low arch support. Some people love this, while others find it doesn’t work well for them. This is why we made the insoles removable so you have the option of using your own inserts for a more customized fit and comfort.
That said, we’ll certainly share your thoughts with the rest of the team as we feel it is important to take into consideration all of the feedback we receive from our customers.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts on your Vessis with us.
