We apologize for any inconvenience you've faced regarding the break-in process of your Vessis. The material is designed to conform to your foot's shape, similar to how socks fit. Over time, as you wear them, they should gradually adapt and stretch to better fit your foot. It's quite common for Vessis to feel snug initially.
To help during this period, some customers find using a shoehorn to put on the shoes helpful. Additionally, you can accelerate the stretching process by placing a few pairs of thick socks inside the shoes overnight, which should aid in expanding their shape.

“These sneakers are gorgeous! The vegan leather combo is so nice and feels less like a "practical" shoe and more like a stylish sneaker. They are super comfy right out the box, as waterproof as advertised, and easy to clean. I got a scuff on the toe first wear and it cleaned right off with a wipe. Only downside is that there are no half sizes so I sized up and need to wear an additional insole. Not a huge deal, but would like to see half size options.”
“It's really waterproof! I know that's what the whole point of Vessis is, but I was super impressed by just how well these shoes hold up. I can splash in puddles as much as I want without worrying :D The only downside to these shoes is that due to the specific cloth-like material used for the shoes, they're not particularly easy to clean. I got a mud smear on the toe of the shoe the other day while I was walking in the rain, and I wasn't able to fully get the stain out despite my best efforts. Thankfully, I bought these shoes more for the practicality than anything else, so I don't mind terribly much.”

I'm sorry to hear you have been experiencing discomfort at the back of your ankles from your shoes. Our ankle opening is a little firm to start, therefore you could experience some discomfort before it stretches out to perfectly accommodate your feet. I would definitely recommend giving your feet time to heal before giving your shoes a try again. Here are a few tips that can help once you start wearing your shoes again.
Wearing thicker socks that provide extra cushioning on that area will give the shoes time to adjust to your foot. Adding something to cover up that area will allow the shoes to adjust to your foot so they can fit you perfectly. Finally, another thing you can try doing is to insert a pair of heel liners into your Vessis for more cushioning. Heel stickers from Dr. Scholls can work really well too.

We’re sorry to hear your Vessis are too narrow. The shoes should adapt to your foot shape with wear. The more you wear them, the more it gives and stretches to mold to you. Therefore, it’s actually quite normal for your Vessis to be a little snug to start. Some customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help. You can also speed up the stretching process by leaving a few pairs of thick socks balled up inside the shoes overnight. “I love Vessi sneakers and tend to buy a Jew pair every year. They are fantastic! Maybe in future sneakers there could be extra reinforcement near the toes. My Vessi’s just after the year mark tend to wear down at these points and create holes.
Otherwise, it’s the perfect sneaker!”
