I'm so happy to hear the arch support and comfort of your Vessis is excellent! I am sorry to hear, however, that you are finding your Vessis a bit narrow though.
It’s actually normal for the ankle opening to be a little firm to start! Over the first few wears of your new shoes you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate to tailor to your foot shape. The reason you want this is to make sure no water comes in through the ankle, and the only way to ensure this is if you allow the shoe to mold to your ankle shape. In order to do that, you do need them to be tight at first and then only stretch when they’ve learned your specific foot shape.
Not to worry, after a few more wears the ankle opening will have loosened up to become the perfect fit for your feet. Lots of customers use a shoehorn in the meantime, which should help. You can also place a pair of balled up socks inside the shoes to help speed up the stretching process.

“These shoes are sooooo comfortable and it’s an added bonus that they are waterproof too. I originally bought these for my trip to Ireland but living In Florida with the rainy summers they have been a blessing. No break in period needed. I have fairly narrow feet so was worried if they were going to not fit right, and they do. I usually wear an 8.5 and was also worried that an 8 would be too small. So far, so good. Would still like to see them in half sizes so I could wear a little thicker sock. 9’s I believe would just be too big. I’m still so very happy with this purchase.”
