“I have purchased four pairs of Vessi sneakers. The fact that they are vegan and waterproof appealed to me.
I have purchased four pairs and think they are extremely comfortable.
I wish the weekend ones would go on sale more rhouggh”
“I feel like I’m walking on clouds with these shoes. No break-in needed. I usually wear an 8.5 so I got a 9. They fit really well. Very happy with these shoes.”
“I seriously don’t own socks, but upon reading the Vessie reviews, as my new Vessi Weekenders and ankle socks are in Italy right now with me, and why I wanted the versatile/waterproof shoes upon seeing a Travel Magazine article on them recently, said the shoes can get smelly. So, I thought I’d try the socks to prevent that from happening. The ankle socks aren’t cheap, and I haven’t run out of socks yet to know how well they wash up, but they are very well made and super soft! They are cushiony in all the right places, including the back achilles area to prevent rubs new shoes can give. I actually prefer socks ON, and not because of any noticed odor or foot sweat, with the Vessie’s I bought, giving my foot a little extra padding in the heel and ball of foot area, where I find the Vessi Weekender sneaker to be just a little lacking in padding, for me. I have a very wide foot, so while my shoes are breaking in to my foot shape/size (wore inside my house for a week before my trip before even hitting pavement with them), at points I’ve slipped off the socks when my feet feel tight and confined, as why I hate socks in general-a claustrophobic feel. To my surprise, and not because I’ve noticed any foot odor or sweaty feet, as reported by other reviewers, but I pretty quickly put the Vessi ankle socks back on because of their great soft n’ cushiony to my feet quality inside the shoe. They take my whole Vessi wearing shoe experience, and seriously, I NEVER wear socks-not even in a Chicago winter, to a new level, The Weekender’s are to be a wider cut, per Vessi and reviewers, as well a preferred style for me to the other Vessi’s, so I took a chance on the women’s size 8 fitting- as a light wt waterproof, fully washable travel shoe sounded awesome and they look great (picked a versatile and dirt hiding, concrete grey color). I did not go to the wider man cut of the Weekender, as seriously, I can go into a store and not 1 pair will fit my wide foot, but reviews gave me confidence these Vessi’s may actually fit me in a women’s 8! Well, left was perfect from first slipping in, right one, after 4 days of travel and prior a week around the inside of my house, has now perfectly stretched just that extra hair that was needed, and is, too, perfect with the Vessi socklet on, now. (I’m glad I didn’t size up or to the men’s cut, as I think the left would be too big and wide, as the right comfortably stretched quickly without terrible pain. I own many an expensive shoe that I’ve never worn again because I couldn’t take the pain/discomfort of the stretching out period, even after feeling fairly comfortable on in the store! And, if you don’t want to wear socks with them, don’t start, as mine are now stretched to my foot with sock on. Without the sock on, the shoe is now slightly big/slips a little- so just wanted to make you aware of this when you are breaking them in, break them in to how you will wear them. With the ankle sock, my only issue was knowing what size to buy, especially for the not cheap price of them, as I wouldn’t have time to do an exchange before my trip. Thus, my one complaint is Vessi having a sock size of S, M, L, XL to pick from, but no chart to guide, left me a little concerned as to the size each of these designations was to fit (- website wouldn’t open in any of the expanded description areas for me???) . I did ask an online assistant, but he needed to ask and follow up to me, so in the meantime, I did find a reviewer who said she was a size 8 shoe and the M sock size fit well. (Others reported the socks ran big, but not their shoe size or sock size they bought-so that left me wondering if I should get the S, M or L?) From that review I took a chance before hearing back from the assistant, and bought the ankle socks in M after having L in my cart, as I was only 2 weeks out from my trip and wanted to place the order sooner rather than later, to hopefully receive before I left. I was glad when the assistant’s reply did come back, as well, saying M for a women’s size 8 shoe size! Thankfully, I can’t report on how waterproof the shoes are, yet, as the weather in Torino/Piedmonte IT area has been great so far! But, I can report, due to being in the foothills of the Ligurian Alps, that the shoes have a great, solid tread, are comfortable with the socks, and do up and down the very steep hills in my town of Mondovì, wonderfully (even last night up the hill in the dark when we missed the last funiculare:-/, and my shoes n socks (even after wearing them all day) still look brand new! The socks are as soft, cushiony snd hold their shape as from when I first put them on in the a.m.! Both were very comfortable on the long flight/layovers, walking thru the airports of Ohare and Munich for 6 hours each (bonus of easy slip on and off at TSA security checks-which I always require of my travel shoes). When traveling, a light wt and versatile pair of shoes are VERY important- BONUS of waterproof with Vessi Weekenders (and says fully machine washable- ADDED BONUS!)! Your entire suitcase room could be totally eaten by shoes, but these light wt, along with 2, very minimal light wt croc patent leather looking slip on sandals (a light and dark color for dinners), are all I’ve brought or needed- as no chance of getting these wide feet into Italian shoes, LOL, and I still had plenty of room for clothes and other packables for the trip! But, bottomline, for the price and all the benefits/qualities I’ve mentioned here, I think these Weekenders and ankle socks are an exceptional value thus far, and seriously still looking out of the box brand new, socks newly fresh, even after last nights unplanned hill climb, lol! Bravo Vessi, as I’m now a fan and will certainly be back for both socks and shoes! (I will update if any issues, wet feet, poorly holding up or quick tread wear down, poor machine washing, etc, if experienced, but I’m fairly confident from what I’ve seen thus far and from the obvious noticeable quality out of the box, that there will be no issues. And just a thought, maybe you already do, but maybe Vessi can donate a few dollars from every pair sold up to a free pair for every pair sold, to the homeless, to keep their badly needing feet dry and comfortable in Vessi’s as well, just because it just struck me that they could really use your great shoes!”
“These are fabulous. Comfortable right out of the box, the fact they’re waterproof is a nice bonus. Ordered my usual size 8, perfect fit. Couldn’t be happier, ready for more colors.”
“I love my new women’s weekend Vessis in concrete grey! I bought them for an upcoming trip to Ireland but I’ve been testing them out when I walk in the local forest preserve on dewy mornings. It’s amazing how dry they keep my feet and how comfortable they are. I can’t wait to hike the Irish countryside in them!”
