Because of the extra stress on the liver, he has been on a diet of hepatic food and it works well. I would recommend this product for any dog suffering from liver issues. It needs vet approval, and can save a dog from liver failure, all things being equal.
One needs to be strict. I mix Canine Hepatic with another food, usually gastrointestinal, to keep him well. He is about 20 now. Understandably a dog of that age has progressive degeneration - hips, joints, and organs such as liver and kidneys. His quality of life is good. He leads a leisurely life, and smiles a lot. His photo, in google, has had about 20,000 hits and I hope he is an inspiration for other dog owners. He was 'cast out' in the economic recession and has lived with me for about 18 years. A true survivor, and a lovely dog.”
