Dried Mealworms Reviews

4.9 Rating 539 Reviews
Read Vine House Farm Reviews

Our Dried Mealworms are a great source of protein and have been a real hit since we first introduced them. Dried mealworms have a similar level of fat and protein as the live equivalent.
What birds enjoy eating Dried Mealworms?
Dried mealworms will be eaten by most soft bill species and in particular Robins, Starlings and Blackbirds. House Sparrows will also eat them.
How do I feed Dried Mealworms to birds?
Dried Mealworms can be fed on their own, in a mealworm feeder or can be added to seed mixes. It’s very important that Dried Mealworms are soaked in water prior to feeding in the breeding season, as it is also the moisture that the young nestlings require.
How should I store dried mealworms?
They should be stored in a dry cool place.

The dried mealworms from Vine House Farm are one of the favourite foods of our local robin family, after a little encouragement, I have one of the parent robins feeding from my hand.

I think my timing was bad — bought them as ground was hard because of lack of rain and birds couldn’t get food for babies. Then it rained, up came worms etc and birds not interested apart from magpies and crows!! (Soaked food before using btw) Good idea for people like me who couldn’t cope with live mealworms !!

Absolute favourite for our starlings but also much appreciated by robins and sparrows. We always soak them before serving.

This is just an FYI response. Two recent deliveries of mixed birdseed have arrived with split sacks. It might be that your supplier needs to be a little more generous with the adhesive along the seam.
