“Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. I got these on "sale," which hastened my purchase. They have been on sale for a while now, so maybe sale is just the low price. Regardless, these are a good value. Weight is outrageously priced right now, and getting bumpers at just over $2/lb seemed pretty good. Ordering was easy, shipping was fast and everything was well packaged. I purchased the 160lb set as a starter, and filled in the rest with some used Rep 45 bumpers. I will say the Vulcan 45s are a little wider (about 1/8-1/4in). But I will never overload the end of my bar because of the extra width! The edges of the plates upon unboxing had little ribbons of rubber material, and the beveled edges appear slightly inconsistent. I also noticed all of the date of manufacture stickers were between 15-18 months ago. They do have a slight smell, but I just put them right in the garage and a little odor eliminator does the job to cover it up. Lastly, while I do not have a scale to weigh them properly, loading up the barbell with all 160lbs certainly felt like 205lbs to me! I know my back isn't calibrated, but I'm confident I'm not cheating my numbers.”
