I purchased the 120's and really love the rubberized handles. The best Hex DB's I have used. Quality is great and didn't have any seam issues with the rubber as someone else had. If I didn't already have 55-100lb I would buy the set.

Just purchased some 35s and 45s. Very pleased with them. Nice size for doing cleans and snatches...the actual bell part isn't too big. The rubber handles feel great and offer wonderful grip. Even my wife who has small hands and wrist problems loves the grip. Not sure what else to say about dumbbells. They are cleanly made with clean surfaces, lines, and edges. The best thing though is the feel and size.

The product is great and the handles are an amazing feature If I had to give two negatives it would be 1) the white Vulcan name on the sides has some inconsistencies in the paint - this is barely noticeable and should not effect the decision to buy. 2) I’m unsure if when opening the box I cut into one of the dumbbells or not (I noticed a cut only later). Contacted Vulcan and the response was basically yea it probably got cut when you opened it and the dumbbell won’t be effected. Not ideal when spending a large amount of money and the product potentially gets injured while opening. Obviously I would have been way more careful if there be some type of warning to NOT use a box cutter? Maybe a second layer to protect the DB?

I did a lot of research on dumbbells prior to purchasing as I wanted the best all-rubber dumbbells money can buy. These did not disappoint. From the fantastic grips to the smaller footprint these provide, you can't go wrong with these. Also they look really cool in a home gym. Unfortunately I can't purchase a set right now due to the pandemic, but I will be slowly piecing together a set of my own as the desired weights become available.

This review is long overdue.... It was about a year ago that I ordered a 5 different sets of hex dumbbells. I received a phone call from a Vulcan rep shortly after placing my order letting me know that they were out of a few of the weights i ordered but they just received their new new Pro Hex dumbbells they would send me as a substitute. These weights are awesome. They are very comfortable in the hand. I am now in the slow process of completing the my collection of 5-100lbs (hopefully by mid-summer). I would definitely recommend Vulcan's Pro Hex dumbbells over any of the competition.

The Pro Head Rubber Dumbbells are nice for the price, but I was a disappointed by how big the rubber seam on the handles was; it digs into my palm a bit when holding the dumbbells and would definitely cause blisters if I did high reps of anything where the handle rotated during the lift. I think I will be able to fix the problem with a file since the seam is only rubber, but annoying to have to do that for brand new equipment.

Thank you for your review. The rubber is seam is quite minimal. To file it down would also involve filing down the rubber thickness and the rubber knurl, which we do not recommend. The seam is quite soft and will wear down with use over some weeks. In comparison to doing high rep movements with steel knurled dumbbells there is much less abrasion without compromising grip as a feature of the Pro Hex Dumbbell. Unfortunately blisters and calluses are not preventable during workouts even with the use of gloves if there is enough continuous friction. These dumbbells can be found in many commercial gyms now and we have not received any feedback of excessive blistering.
