Review Update: I wrote the first review on these pads a little over a year ago. Just wanted to provide an update on durability for anyone that might be concerned on that front. These pads have held up great. They are used predominantly for deadlift by both me and my workout partner, and have had a lot of 300# to 400+# deadlift sets on them, and they are still in fantastic condition. The foam is not sunken in, and the fabric on the pads still looks almost like new. We lift with both steel plates and bumpers, so I'm particularly impressed by the fabric durability. So far, continues to be a great product.

Excellent drop pads, from the packaging to the quality of the materials. Definitely a drop in sound when the barbell lands on it. I got these because of the price and the size. I will make a platform to do deadlifts.

It may seem like you're paying more for these pads--YOU'RE NOT! Pricing includes S&H. The reason why I purchased these is the footprint size, 24x40, which makes it one of the biggest drop pads on the market (and lowest priced). Other drop pads are a shrimpy 2x2 target, making it difficult to drop weight, ESPECIALLY if you're doing Crossfit or Olympic Lifts. If the height of the pads is an issue, build a platform (which someone else suggested). These also work as a mini block. I've dropped 240 on these, not a peep from my wife. Great investment and highly recommended!

These are expensive but worth it. I went with the Vulcan Drop Pads over other brands because they were the largest (24"x48") I could find and I knew I wanted to build a portable (3' x 4') platform to sit in between the pads (see picture). This allows me to do cleans/DLs/etc at the proper starting height and have maximum surface area for forgiveness on the drops from overhead. These pads silence the sound and vibration almost completely in my carport and don't bother my family in the house or the neighbors next door. Exactly what I needed.

Converted my family room to a home gym and wanted to make sure I didn’t crack the tiles. These pads are awesome. The are BIG 2’x4’ and 6” thick with great padding. Now I have piece of mind that I wont have parable so with my tiles and concrete in the future

These pads allow me to lift without concern that I am disturbing my neighbor [who happens to be on the board of the HOA!]. I've tested these up past +300lbs dropping deadlift and +160lbs from split jerk - there is no concussion and very little noise. I can fully endorse this product.

Just recently purchased these to dampen the sound when I am deadlifting early in the morning, and they work great. The fabric on them feels really durable and I think they will wear well. The zipper also feels very high quality. The foam is super dense, and I really like the 24" by 48" footprint, which is quite a bit larger than most of the other pads I looked at. They do an excellent job of dampening noise and vibration. I built a platform using 2x6 lumber and 3/4 in plywood on top, and with the pads sitting on 2x4s next to the platform everything is exactly level so I don't have to deadlift with the bar elevated. Really simple build and works well. All in all, a great product for a great price, which is what I have come to expect from Vulcan.
