“I purchased the Vulcan Elite Round Rubber Grip dumbbells. I went back and forth several times trying to decide between the round and the Vulcan Elite Hex Rubber Grip dumbbells. At my gym, they have both straight handle and contoured handle hex dumbbells. I tried to determine if I preferred one over the other. To be honest, I was not able to determine what handle was more comfortable. Possibly a slight edge to the contoured handle. This was not going to weigh into my decision. Next, I determined if I'd be doing many floor exercises with the dumbbells since hex heads are safer for floor exercises. Though I do perform some floor exercises, I determined the majority of my routines is either on a bench or standing so this was not a contributing factor. Plus, I have been working out for approximately 40 years so if I want to perform a floor exercise with the round heads, I was confident I can do it without injury to myself. What struck me as important was the compact size of the round dumbbells. I have used mostly hex head dumbbells, but when I have the opportunity to use round head dumbbells, they always feel better allowing me to concentrate deeper on the area I'm focused on. This is especially true as I got into the heavier weight. Once you hit 50-pound and even more noticeable with the 100-pound pair, the dumbbells just feel incredibly long and want to teeter tooter. With the Elite Round Rubber Grip dumbbells, the heads on the 50-pound pair are a larger surface, but it is much better than being sprawled out to increase the length. Additionally, the grip is very comfortable for the 20-pound dumbbells and higher. I wish the 5 to 15-pound dumbbells were the same diameter, but I understand with the weight being less the handle doesn't have to be as thick; very small concern. I am enjoying the Vulcan Elite Round Rubber Grip dumbbells at home. I have some other equipment and decided to cancel my gym membership. I highly recommend anyone on the fence purchasing this set or any other equipment from Vulcan Strength. You will not regret it! Last note, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to store the 5 to 50-pound dumbbells on my rack. You can't place them on the rack from smallest to largest. At the moment, I have a 5-pound dumbbell on the floor. Not a concern for me.”

“Outstanding. I bought the 5-75 lb. Vulcan Elite Dumbbells and I absolutely love them. Everyone that comes to my house and goes into my gym has commented on them specifically. One weight came in incorrectly so I emailed Vulcan and they sent out a replacement that I received in a couple days. Incredible response time.”
