I've had quite a few different squat racks over the last few years (X3, PR1000, PR5000, RML, and Colorado Strength). So I think I've had a good sampling of the common racks out there. This rack from Vulcan, is easily the best of all of them. The powder coating is clearly superior. There are a couple of spots of welding/cutting slag, but overall it's fantastic (even inside the uprights are pretty evenly coated). The holes are well cut, as well as the numbering (one side of the uprights only). The straps are well-designed, with tilt-and-slide connections. The jcups and strap connections have UHMW on the insides to prevent scratching. The bolts are beefy as expected. And the weight plate storage pins are the best I've ever seen. They're essentially barbell sleeves welded onto a mounting bracket; amazing. If I would've known that I definitely would've ordered more than 4. I currently have 270 lbs of iron on two of them, and it doesn't sag, creak, moan, or lean. Beastly. There is only 1 thing that I found interesting, but it in no way affects how I view this piece of art. The uprights have holes to the top so that where the uprights are cut part of the holes are cut. This leaves a partial hole. Vulcan provides upright caps and you shouldn't need to mount any accessories up there but it's peculiar. It also came exceptionally well packaged in a crate, wrapped in bubble wrap. I think I had two scratches on the whole unit. All that to say, I'm completely impressed and I can't imagine a better rack out there, period. Factor in the cost, and this thing is a value monster.

I am thrilled that I was able to purchase the Vulcan Prime Power Rack this year. It is a much better rack than I was using in the commercial gym and I am very satisfied with the quality and value received. The rack was packaged together in bubble wrap inside a pine box (coffin). The rack accessories purchased, were shrink-wrapped to the top of the box. It was delivered freight within three days of shipping. It left the warehouse about 2 weeks after placing the order. The pictures on the website with the tile flooring are reflective of what I received, the rack does not include black zinc hardware or band pegs as shown on the pictures with the rubber flooring. There were a couple of spots where the powder coat was missing on the holes, only one shows due to the configuration of bolts. The only things that I don't like as much are the configuration of the J Cup (great rack and barbell protection but they have a shallow opening with a raised lip) and the pins included with the spotter arms are 5/8 rather than 1" (but they are so well built and substantial they may not even need that redundancy). I purchased the multi-grip pull-up bar, without realizing that it comes standard with a straight pull-up bar. I was missing two nuts and washers, plus the 4 bolts and nuts and washers for the straight pull-up bar. Vulcan shipped me the missing hardware after I let them know, and I received them three days later. The versatility afforded by the hole spacing and included cross-members is incredible. Due to my space, I chose to build the 6 post rack with the two plate storage uprights as wings off the back rather than the standard configuration to the back. The numbered uprights are cut on one side of the post from 1-40. The included safety straps are extremely functional and provide great security. The inclusion of an additional upper cross member provides additional value and structural integrity. I also appreciate the use of gussets on the cross members and the high-quality welds throughout the rack. Now that I have seen it in my space I plan to order additional items such as the conversion feet, weight pins, etc. One thing to note is that accessories do not ship free if ordered separately from the rack. I highly recommend Vulcan and the Prime Power Rack to anyone looking for an exceptional piece of equipment for their strength training. All of my interactions with the staff at Vulcan have been outstanding and they have been very responsive to me. The combination of features, quality, 1" holes and 36MM hardware, standard 2" spacing, accessory compatibility, and value make for an excellent choice for anyone looking for a new power rack.

Overall appears to be very good quality. Packaging was very tight and secure to assure nothing was damaged. However for paying over 2 thousand dollars I would like they would have spent a little more time on the instructions. I am a mechanical oriented person and still had a hard time. Would also help if they would put the size socket needed to tighten the 2 different size bolts as they are not common to a regular socket set due to the size. Also the land mine attachment I got is confusing on how or where the install is intended with no instructions on it as well. I went to look up on line and found nothing there either, the landmine I did find was not the same one I was shipped. Wondering if it was shipped wrong because I cannot seem to get to work. At the end of the day I have been satisfied with the quality of the parts I received, it would just have been nice to have better instructions for this many pieces to put together. Online videos would be even better to follow along with at this price point.
