Push Pull Sled - Vulcan TrencherSpecifications:The Vulcan Push/Pull sled is a heavy duty training sled that can handle heavy weights yet the sled is light enough that it can be used as a drag or speed sled. Pulling Harness included. ; Ships Flat. Simple assembly with hand tools; The overall length of the sled is approximately 41" with the wraparound bar attached. Sled base is 36" x 16.5" approximately ; Total unloaded Weight of the sled is 96 lbs with all attachments and harness; Unloaded sled weight: 95 lbs; ; Push bar, High/low Push handles, wrap around attachment, and harness are included. The sled can be used with or without attachments as needed; The wrap around bar allows the puller of the sled to quickly change direction and pull in an opposite direction without having to turn the actual weighted sled itself. This saves time and energy that can be spent toward more sled pullingThe horizontal pushing bar provides a more natural position for pushing that translates to sports such as football, rugby, and wrestling (pushing with hands in front of the body). The height of the handle is approximately 20" which will allow most trainees of average height to push from a position that allows more leg and hip drive while still keeping the back flatTwo Push Poles are included at 36" height

This sled is just what I wanted for working out in my back yard. Unfotunately my backyard is pretty rough from two big dogs constantly playing back there. When The front end would hit an uneven patch of grass the gap between the front and side rails would dig in with the effect of slamming on the brakes and also digging a gouge into my grass. A trip to my local metal shop and $150 later and I now have an All-Terrain modification (see photos) I realize that most people will use the sled on perfectly even turf, but it would have been nice if the designers at Vulcan had forseen this issue and closed the gaps at the corners. The two different push positions are great and the wrap around rail to clip into for drags is also a good design feature. The unit is quite heavy and the flat bottom creates a lot of drag, so expect to be humbled if you stack the same amount of plates onto it as you are used to with a traditional prowler. So, still 5 stars because my situation is probably unique.

Just received mine--it is even BETTER than advertised, and I was pleasantly surprised: it now comes with 2 tall push bars and the 4 holes that you can place them in to push/pull (picture Rogue Dog Sled). I originally purchased this one because although I really wanted the tall push bars feature, the Rogue price and additional prices with their add-ons simply made it undoable. I decided to go with Vulcan for the lower price and more inclusive additions, and wasn't expecting the tall bars because they aren't in the pictures above--but now, there is absolutely no reason for someone to buy the Dog Sled over this product. Also it works well on grass because of the bigger surface area like someone below mentioned. Great job, Vulcan! 3rd product from you guys (bumper plates, sand bags) and am equally impressed with all. Will recommend your brand to friends!

Sled works great on grass which is why I chose it over a prowler or dog sled. I highly recommend it!

I had a Prowler but got rid of it because it would not work on my bumpy lawn. The Vulcan Trencher works great on my lawn. And I'm sure it works even better on artificial turf. The push bar is the right height the entire thing is built very solid.
