Vulcan Alpha Plates are designed for indoor and outdoor use and can safely be dropped on any surface. The Alpha plates are made of a unique proprietary rubber compound, unlike any other bumper plates. This unique rubber has properties that reduce the level of noise when dropped by 30% as compared to high-density rubber bumper plates. ; Specifications ; One Basic Hard Chrome 20 kg Barbell is included in the price of the package deal (multiple bar options are available in the drop-down menu); Selecting an upgraded bar will increase the price. All barbells are discounted within the package. ; Set contains a pair of each: 55 lb, 45 lb, 35 lb, 25 lb, 10 lb and one barbell of your choice. ; Barbell collars are not included ; Specifications: Bumper Plate Weights, Dimensions, and Colors: 10 lb - 1.17 inches, 15.7" diameter, Grey Fleck; 15 lb - 1.38 inches, 17.7" diameter, Orange Fleck; 25 lb - 1.81 inches, 17.7" diameter, Green Fleck; 35 lb - 2.55 inches, 17.7" diameter, Yellow Fleck; 45 lb - 2.95 inches, 17.7" diameter, Blue Fleck; 55 lb - 3.34 inches, 17.7" diameter, Red Fleck; 10 lb plates are a slightly smaller diameter to add density to the rubber compound to allow for dropping. 10 lb plates can be dropped alone on the bar; Color-coded with large Flecks of rubber for easy identification from a distance and a really unique look; Color coding is standard IWF type coloring; Color Flecks are part of the rubber compound; Fit tighter together than any crumb rubber or recycled rubber bumper plates. “Ive own these plates for 3 years now. These plates are amazing. As others state, low (fewer) bounce(s), so that cuts the noise right there, but they are also just quite. Excellent quality. And love the colors making it easier to define the plate weight.”

“As I opened each box I was instantly impressed with not only the smooth quality finish but the appearance of each bumper. Love the color coding. Satisfying thud when dropped and true to their word they dont roll away. I'm sure these will meet my needs for life. 10/10”

“Overall I'm very happy my new Alpha Bumper Plates. They feel incredibly well built and much more durable than the plates I used to use at my local gym. I'm in a new space so it is hard to compare the noise level they make but i can tell you the bounce on these is incredibly low. It is almost like they stick to the floor. I'm going to abuse these for a while and probably buy another set it the fall. So far I'm very impressed with Vulcan and i have another order coming my way already.”

“Took a few weeks to as indicated during the order. This is an awesome set and worth the wait. The smaller plates came paired in their own box and the larger plates were individually boxed. All the bumpers were separated by a sheet of foam to protect them during shipping. A pallet with everything arrived as scheduled.”

“These are well made plates with a great look and feel. Best looking plates on the market. They fit close on the bar and square to each other. Very low bounce. Everything is top notch quality and better than what you can get in the same price range. The rubber smell is low when new and fades after a few weeks. The only improvement I would make is a lifting edge. The plates have a square edge and the heavy plates can be difficult to pick up when flat.”

“Weight plates seem to be very high quality. Each plate was within 2% of the stated weight. There's been too much snow where I live to test these outside on various surfaces. My gym is also not setup for Olympic lifting so I'll need to wait until spring before I can give them a good overhead test drop. I have dropped the bar from waist height and found them to exhibit a good low and controlled bounce. Because these plates are so popular you need to be prepared to wait a very long time for them to ship. Mine took 10 weeks after ordering for them to arrive. Also, customer service at Vulcan Strength can be slow and bumbling if you need help.”

“Extremely happy so far in the product. The alpha bumpers are definitely quieter and less bouncy than plates I've used in the past. My only complaint was on the logistical/customer service side of things. When I placed my order, I was not aware of any delay in shipping. I only became aware after going on the website to check on my order, no email notification from Vulcan. All said and done it was a 6.5 week process where some proactive communication and updates during the process would have been nice considering my credit card was charged immediately.”

All pre-orders are charged at the time of purchase as stated in the terms and policy on our website. The ETA (estimated time of arrival) is not a guaranteed date of course. There were email notifications sent out detailing that once bumper plates arrived it would take anywhere from 7-10 business days to ship out all pre -orders. “This was a great purchase and well worth the backorder wait. Both of the plates and the bar feel extremely high quality and durable. I was able to add 30-40lbs to my clean and jerk just by using this equipment. The bar spins freely and the plate have very minimal bounce. Both are amazing products.”
