“I bought these to reduce clatter when setting down a bar loaded with steel plates (deadlifts and rows). These collars do cut down on the clatter, but unfortunately they loosen just a bit after a couple of reps, and then the clatter returns.”

Hi. Thanks for your feedback. These are the very same collars we have used in Olympic weightlifting competitions for many years. As with any collar after the weight is dropped a few times it may need to be readjusted. Please do check to make sure you are tightening the collar as much as possible. The tighter you can torque the collar the stronger the collar can grip the barbell sleeve. These collars are made for barbells that are made to 50 mm specifications (Vulcan barbells and others made to minimal tolerance for the sleeve diameter) . If the sleeve is smaller than 50 mm, the compression ring will not be as effective.
