The Real, high performing mid range Bar. Have you been looking for something above the $250 mark that does it all, but doesn't cost $800. -this bar is the girlfriend no one wants... because no one has taken the time to know her. The construction and tolerances in this bar are tight and really well done. The sleeves have No Side To Side Play Whatsoever. It's exactly what it should be for a mid range training bar that can double duty as a multi use bar, a deadlift bar, a gym bar, and really the only limitation it might run into for some people is really heavy squats as some folks will not like the amount of flex. But that flex is just right for most everything else especially when training for dynamic compound lifts. I hear so many people talk about wanting a good all-purpose bar and a few months later the same people end up buying two or three different bars to accomplish different tasks and end up spending well over $700 and I'm telling you this bar can do all of those things and then some. It really is the go to training bar that handles everything. And truth be told the Flex it has does make squatting more comfortable up into the 450 lb range . And I haven't even started talking about the spin which is seriously awesome and performs perfectly weather light or heavyweight. I really think this is the bar more people should look into that can stand in and do the job of many 8 or $900 Olympic bars and the only significant difference you can tell between this and those is really cosmetic and this bar has never so slightly tamer knurling than a real competition bar, but also just a bit rougher than a common Gym bar. Smaller cut lines in diameter you've done early a very smooth and comfortable feel that instantly grabs like velcro when you put any tension on it. Think like a Swedish bar where the grooves have a little less depth. finish is very nice even though after some time the knurling sections have developed a slight patina that doesn't show badly. I have preserved the spin of this bar with some PTFE (Drill Axle and Gear Lubricant) and it took a couple of applications to get it deep inside to do it's work but it spins like a champ and also stops spinning predictably. The only things I would like to improve on this bar is I would like to have the option of Center knurling and the groove sleeves are not necessary but they're not over done on this bar either. The next option if you can't find a deal on this bar, you might well consider the Olympic Training bearing bar which should fill a similar niche to this bar closer to the $300 mark . But if you are serious at all about lifting and find a deal on this one just go for it. It really can do the job of three different bars in one - a multi use bar, Olympic bar , and deadlift bar.

Although I've only had this barbell a short time, I can comment on a few things. It is very well constructed. The finish is very nice. The knurling is close in feel to a Swedish training barbell. I'm very happy with it and I'm sure it will be a gym favorite.
