“Very nice tiles with a subtle brushed pattern.
I combined these with the mosaic Nantlle Valley Silver Slate for the kitchen splashbacks and they work well together.
Definitely worth taking the time to lay them out on the floor beforehand. Moving them around until the patterns compliment each other. I began by categorising them into three levels (plain, slight pattern, stronger pattern). Stronger pattern went into the centre of the wall and plain on the outside.
Then it was a case of aligning the patterns to see what worked best.
They are quite heavy tiles as is the case with porcelain, so preparation is essential. I used the Mapei set to install. Mapei Primer G to prepare the walls, Mapei Keraquick adhesive and Mapei Ultracolour Plus 100 grout with Mapei sealant to finish. A good combination and excellent products also.
Used a small wet saw to cut them. Slow and steady. They do chip at the end of the run if you don't support the tile on the sides/ ends (due to the weight it seems) but that seems to be quite common with porcelain in general. Takes a bit of practice, so order a few spares. I managed to get some good detail cuts after a bit of practice.
There was an issue with one tile which Customer Services resolved very quickly - Thank you.
One improvement to the product would be to align the sizes of the mosaics exactly with the large tiles. Ie. The large is 60 x 30cm, the mosaic is 30 x 30cm. However, when it comes to laying them, there is a small discrepancy (approx 10mm) where the two mosaic tiles are slightly longer than the single large tile. Grout spacing on the mosaics is set so it's unrelated to this. Not a big deal, just a small detail.
Due to the size, installation can be quite quick.
Goes well with silver trim edging.
Overall, excellent tiles and quality seems to be very good.”
