“As a collector whose collection is approaching 100, I have become increasingly discriminating when acquiring new timepieces. Price is of less importance. Some I've acquired for less than $100, while others are valued in the $1000s. Design, construction and quality have become the defining factors. Those qualities are what attracted me to the Trappist-1 Moonphase Black Hole. Beyond just telling time, it also represents the idea of time. No, it doesn't have traditional hands; it features two "planets" that revolve to represent the hours and minutes. The concept is both unique and functional, although it requires a bit of effort to quickly read the time. However, if all wanted was something to tell time, I would have only one watch in my collection, and that would be my Rolex Datejust 36. This Xeric expands the boundaries of what a watch means and why we wear them. It's as much about style and substance and scores big on both. Every time it's worn it becomes the topic of conversation and endless curiosity. The easy swap band is a great feature. Lots of other colorways are available and I expect to add another to my collection shortly. I think it's a must-have for any collection - unless you're a brand snob.”
