Hi,
These are meant to be the thinnest helmets that are DOT. In order to be DOT they need to be at least 1 inch wide so that's why they are still going to have some padding. But these are the thinnest helmets which are DOT.

“Measured and went by their size chart, helmet was too big. WCL wanted me to pay $40 shipping to return it. Offered to send me a return label if I bought gloves too.
I will not be purchasing from WCL again.”
“Great helmet. Wish the strap would go tighter and the tail of the strap had a better stow position as it kind of flops around sometimes. Way better than mushroom head though.”
