“Very happy with the Shadow pergola in shadow grey. Delivery was quick and very efficient delivered to my back garden as requested on the day.
Assembly was a bit irritating at times due to the instructions / pictures not being very clear for a beginner of pergola assembly (LOL). The measurements shown in the instructions are difficult to get exact and (very time consuming). In the end I just ensured the measurement between each leg foot plate was the same and the legs stood level and this seemed to work. Although It can be assembled with x2 people it would be much easier with x3 to assemble due to the weight and stability.
Installing the roof was a little confusing (again, instructions not so clear) and ended up phoning the customer service department (Katie) who helped me resolve the issues I was having by informing us of a you tube video that might help on installation (it did) even though it was not a shadow pergola video. All went well in the end and no creaky noises from the louvres (which I have seen and heard from ones in local stores.
A few days later Katie emailed to check on how I was getting on with the installation, I informed her all was up and looked good but it did have a few scratches. Katie then asked for a photo of the scratches and once received she sent some touch up paint which I am very grateful for.
I also purchased x4 louvre side panels, I have currently installed x1 to which I would say you need two people to make it easier to assemble and lift on. The louvre side panel I managed to install after pergola was already bolted down.
I am very happy with the overall service from white stores and would buy from again.”
“We are super happy with the Shadow Pergola. Delivery was on time and everything was packed up really well. Assembly took quite a lot longer than quoted. About a day and a half / 2 days for one person with occasional help from a second pair of hands. But it wasn't complicated. The Louvre mechanism works perfectly and is water tight so far. We also bought the heater which I'm very happy with. Only knocked off one star as the whole thing wasn't as stable as we hoped. Even with all the bolts in place at the feet of each upright. This was easy enough to fix for us as we could bolt it to a wall too so now it's super steady. Excellent value.”
“After receiving the pergola from the wonderful delivery team, it was time to build. Everything was checked to ensure it was all there, which it was, with spares included.
The build was pretty much straight forward, and is now installed in my back garden (just got the lights to install). Great looking pergola, just need time to get out under it now.”
“The product is great, love the style and relatively easy to build. I recommend using a power drill as some screws are difficult to get in by hand. Also, instructions say at-least 2 x people needed, but for some stages I'd say realistically you need 4 x people due to weight and shape of frame. That aside, great product - so 5* for the product.
Negative: delivery company cancelled the original delivery via text during the expected delivery slot. White stores were not very helpful with supporting a re-arranged delivery, I had to sort this myself, which I wouldn't expect to do as a customer. With the price point, I thought this was pretty poor form. Delivery was rescheduled a week after, so technically product arrived 2 weeks after original delivery date. This may not be everyone's experience, but this was ours. So have lowered the overall review to 3* due to service.”
