“Bought a set from White beginning of december 23. The app works work well on our samsung A14's. On our older tablet ( 5+years) it crashed on some of the "fancy" functions like effects, but still allowed you to set it up the tree and light colours. Your neighbours look at you funny photographing your tree in daylight as part of setting up the effects. Once we moved to the Samsung, everything worked well, after several days of trying out the effects, and setting the timer.. the revelation...PLAYLIST.. and effect editor. So now our tree goes through our 6 favourite effects, changing every half an hour. So whether you like "in your face" union jacks rotating around your tree, or something more subtle (like us) a mid green with twinkling stars, a slow fade around the colours, or just a single colour ( and any colour) it works great.
Installation,
our tree is a 4M Tree about 2M Wide with the 600 string lights. It normally has a 1000 light set on it, I would say the 600 was probably not quite enough lights, the lights are not a single string but two with the controller in the middle, so had to be wrapped around the tree separately. The lead from the non-waterproof controller to the first light is a lot shorter than I expected so requires a waterproof box at the base of the tree.
For those of you who are into home automation, there are integrations for several Habitat applications, and if you are into coding there are plenty of things to play with too.
I don't normally do reviews, but as you can tell we have had a lot of fun. It has far exceeded my expectations and kept the children wife entertained for hours.
