“I purchased this unit 4 and 1/2 years ago. It did its job while it lasted but it just stopped working recently. I called CellarCool to ask them for referrals of local certified repair Representatives and they gave me four or five of them but either they didn't service this category of unit or they were out of business. The company also told me I could Google on my own and find someone locally as well. I finally found a refrigeration company on my own (that's the specialty company you would want for this unit, not an air conditioning repair or general appliance repair company) that was familiar with and worked on this particular unit in the past. They said it would cost $925 to repair with no guarantee at all that it would work at all or continue to work and there would be no refund. I paid $1,500 four and a half years ago and I just repurchased it recently for 1800. I stayed with this unit because the wall where it was installed was already framed out and I was tied to this size. I hope this one lasts longer. The refrigeration company told me that on average this unit only lasts about 5 to 7 years and it's not worth repairing at that point & it should just be replaced. I think for that kind of money they should build them better make them last longer and give a longer warranty on them. On that basis alone, 3 stars. Were it not for the short-lived operation, it would get 5 stars.”
