Just received my 4000. Delivery was timely and professional. When unpacked, I noticed 2 shelves were not installed, rather merely sitting in the base of the unit. I didn't think anything of it, as the shelves are adjustable and I was going to configure storage anyway. I sent the white gloves team on their way. Well, as it turns out, those 2 shelves should have been rejected in manufacturing as the clearances were way out of spec. Explanation......when the metal glides are on the walls, the distance between the glides is exactly 20", so the absolute maximum distance that the groves in the wooden shelf can be is slightly less than 20", or the shelves won't fit or slide. The dimensions on the groves of the 2 shelves were 20.125" and 20.375", which clearly won't fit. First call to WineEnthusiast customer service was almost 20 minutes of hold time, followed by "leave a message". We will see if WE/Eurocave provides replacement shelves, otherwise, my capacity on sliding shelves was just reduced by 18%.

Overall very satisfied, but my one complaint is that the slats on some shelves have not been spaced properly which results in being only able to fit 5 Bordeaux bottles instead of 6.

The 4000 is the second unit I have purchased from Wine Enthusiast and Eurocave. The order was delivered on time and installed professionally. The quality of the unit is a step backward in my opinion. The shelving system is rather primitive compared to the earlier unit I purchased. Wood shelves do not provide flexibility for spacing of bottles. The positioning of bottles is too tight especially from end to end. Only the smallest of 750 mL bottles will fit in the wood shelves end to end. Some of the larger bottles available today won’t work. It uses a primitive dowel system to control shelves and their movement. Disappointing!

It is a nice unit. Drop off was okay, but not white glove. Didn’t stick around to level it. Since you have to fill it at least partially I before turning it on, you know it can’t really be “white glove.” Upper unit is not working and I am trying to get help with this from customer service but they are silent. I give it three stars because I am optimistic. Right now it is a $4k box that looks good.

Let me start by saying the unit itself is fantastic. This would be a 5/5 if the delivery experience wasn’t so bad. There isn’t a word in the dictionary that sufficiently describes how bad the “white glove delivery” service is. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. We receive an email with a scheduled delivery time, we call to say we cannot be there at that time and ask to reschedule, they tell us it is not possible to reschedule. The delivery drivers proceed to show up in the time we specifically said we could not be there. We asked them if they could come back in the afternoon and they said no, they would leave and reschedule. We get an email the following week with a time slot. We planned to be there during the 4 hour time slot and then the delivery team shows up over an hour before the time slot and tells us if we don’t arrive in 20 minutes that they will leave and not come back. We scrambled to get there in time and did within 15 minutes only to find out they left before 20 minutes. We tried reaching out via phone, but were not able to contact anyone. We stayed home and luckily the drivers happened to come back. Once the delivery drivers arrived they bumped into things as they were moving the unit in. At least the shipping was free...
