“We love our new wine cooler, however, that is not the focus of this short review. Wine Enthusiast's GREAT customer service has made us Wine Enthusiast super fans! The first cooler we were shipped began running loudly, with a vibrating noise that became difficult to tolerate in our small condo. I wrote customer service, crossed my fingers, and expected a fight to get any help. To my surprise, I was offered a replacement unit right away. No exchange fee, no shipping fee, no pick up fee. No hassle! Impressive. The new unit runs quietly and does a great job. Thank you Wine Enthusiast!”

“It is loud. This is not a quiet wine fridge. There is a loud humming. We reported this and were told this is just how it is. Support was not very helpful. It took a long time to receive this and was quite inconvenient from this seller. We are not completely happy with this purchase and have had to move its location due to this issue. The guys who delivered barely put it into place and would not even put the handle on it for a complete delivery.”

“I want to be fair, this is not a bad unit. I wanted to own the Prestige Counter-depth 2 zone fridge for a month before writing a review. My assessment is the unit has some shortcomings as a top of the line product. My biggest disappointment is the level of noise produced by this in a freestanding application in a living space (dining room). It emits a 24/7 hum at 46db. It ramps up to over 50db when the compressor kicks on to cool the unit. We can hear the hum from our living room when trying to watch TV. This is louder than a competitor product we have in the basement, which I also bought on this site. The other issue is temperature and humidity management. The unit is in our dining room where the temps stay between 66 - 70 degrees (winter time). I set the top zone to 50 and bottom zone to 54 (pretty tight range). Monitoring the temperature, the top ranges between 46 - 50 and the bottom between 48 - 54. It is definitely set to keep things below the set temp. The biggest surprise has been the humidity swings, which go from 46% - 76% even when using the lava rock insert (came with unit to manage humidity). Current reading is 74% top and 60% bottom zone. The placement of the lock is mind-boggling. It is virtually unusable as you need to be on your hands and knees to lock the unit. The lock is at the very bottom by the vent. Seems like a pretty significant user experience miss. If you get this, I recommend it for a basement or other space where you don't care about noise level. Good: Love the footprint (6ft tall and only 23inches deep), Looks nice enough, keeps bottles cool Disappointments: Noise generated in living space (manual says 42db, but my experience is 46 to 50+ db with constant hum), lock placement, hard to get to bottles at back of shelf due to shelves only coming out part way”

“I want to be fair and say this is not a terrible unit. In the right application, it might be acceptable. However, as the Prestige brand for Wine Enthusiast it leaves a bit to be desired. It emits a 24x7 hum that is 46db and elevates to 52+ db when running. It is louder than our kitchen fridge. We placed this unit in our dining room in a freestanding application. It is just simply too loud for a living space given the constant hum (it does not ever stop). We can even hear it from the living room when trying to watch TV. I also would expect a bit better temperature and humidity control from a top of the line product. I've set the top zone to 50 and bottom zone to 54. The temperature is usually between 46 - 50 on the top and 48 to 54 on the bottom. The humidity ranges between 46 - 76% even when using lava rock insert. I just feel that's not very tight for a space that pretty consistently is between 65 - 67 degrees (winter for us). The lock is also a challenge because you literally have to be on your hands and knees to use it. It's at the bottom of the unit. I regret a bit not spending a little extra to get the Eurocave. I've had one in my basement (bought here) for 15+ years and it is worth every penny. Good: Size is fantastic (only 6ft high and counter-depth), looks nice, keeps wine cool, fits about 84 bottles Disappointments: Constant hum, humidity swings, wish it was a little tighter on temperature control, lock placement, can be hard to get to bottles on back of shelves because they only come out halfway”
