“Great wine refer! Don't know what everyone is hearing, I never hear it at all. I guess it depends on where you put it. Shelves can be tight, but not a deal breaker. Got this one because it had compressor. Saves money by not running all day like thermoelectric models.”

“I got this specifically for white wines, as my big cellar is set for reds. Overall, it's a pretty good unit. It maintains temperature very well - the display fluctuates +/- 2 degrees from the set point, but wine temps are steady. The two drawbacks are:1. Unit is VERY noisy. Much louder than my big (166 bottle) unit.2. Since I use it specifically for whites, and set the temp around 42 degrees - it occasionally begins to form ice on the back wall. At some point, this ice melts and water seeps out the front of the fridge. This means some mopping, and a periodic defrosting is required. This is probably not an issue if it's set for red wines.”

“We have had bad luck with thermoelectric coolers so we liked the idea of an old-fashioned compressor unit. We're pleased with its functionality, but it is very noisy. During the first 20 seconds or so in a cooling cycle, it makes a noise like someone rubbing an inflated balloon. During (and immediately after) the cooling cycle, there is noise like flowing water. Thirty seconds or so after the cycle, it's quiet. We initially placed the cooler in the breakfast room but were bothered by the noise so we moved it to the gym where noise is not a problem.”

“Just right for my needs. ItÃ¢??s doing great. I am an older person and it's size is just right. Would definitely purchase again.”

“Had to buy a compressor model due to living in California. Must admit that it makes more noise than our large refrigerator in the kitchen and so had to move it out of the bedroom. I guess it uses fewer watts since it is not always on, but when running it can gurgle, hum, and make noises that make me stop across the living room to wonder what is going on.”

“No stops on the shelving. If you pull the shelf out too far all the wine falls on the floor.”
