“First of all, these are absolutely gorgeous hand-painted lanterns. And they look very pretty when they are lit up. Unfortunately the quality is spotty. One of the four lighting units was broken. Fortunately there is a spare included in the box. Also the twinkle light coil in one bottle was all bunched up towards the top and you need a long tool like chopstick to poke down and stretch the coil out. Next comes the additional cost that many of the reviewer‘s mention. Each bottle takes three very particular batteries. I found Duracell 76A 1.5 V button batteries that seems to work. At a cost of three or four dollars each, that is expensive to light up a total of four lanterns. I have no idea how long they will last also. Attempting to put in these little batteries in the plastic cork that you must open is very tight. It takes a bit of ingenuity to pry it open, so keep at it! Finally, and maybe more importantly, is that within a couple of weeks after my purchase, wine enthusiast marked these down almost $15, from the original $80 price tag which is pretty crappy. Had I known, I sure would’ve waited. I feel ripped off.”

“What fun gifts these were to my friends for Christmas. Even more beautiful when lit. Look great inside the house and out on the patio. One of the cork/lights in the bottle did not work but no worries they included an extra one!”
