The second time I used it , it broke. It must have had a crack in the plastic pad that the sanding disc sticks to. Such a weak point, you’d think you could purchase a replacement part not forced to buy an entire new unit! SCG

The first time I used this bowl sander, it was ok. The second time I used it, the whole sponge snapped off. There's a set screw that I thought could be loosened to replace the sponge piece but it won't come loose so it looks like the whole thing is trash. Very disappointed.

The first time I used it, the shaft started locking up and the hook pad for the discs tore away from the sponge. The bowl I was doing was already hand sanded with 150 grit and was smooth. I was just using the bowl sander to get out the sanding marks. It was NOT a heavy duty job. As I said, find another solution.

The tool worked well while it lasted, but the shaft of the sander wore out after maybe 15 bowls. I went back to Woodcraft to inquire if I was doing something wrong, and was told that it "just wears out." I would think if Woodcraft knows the tool wears out, they would inform customers and provide the ability to purchase replacement parts. Not planning to purchase another one, but instead will look for another solution.

This tool worked well while it lasted, but the spindle wore out after maybe 15 bowls. I went to Woodcraft to see if I did anything wrong and was told that the part "just wears out, " and I could purchase a new one. I would think if Woodcraft knows this tool is prone to wear, they would inform customers and provide a means for purchasing replacement parts. I am not going to purchase the tool again, but will instead look for another solution.

I bought this to protect my fingers, and make it more comfortable to sand. It lasted a couple days, so it really wasn't worth it. The disks spins, and parts come unscrewed, and if you lose the set screw in a pile of shavings, well.....you'll never find it. I can probable make something that works as well, and still keep my fingers out of the way.
