I’ve used Mike’s walnut oil for over 20 years. It is a great product and provides a nice sheen when applied properly. It’s very easy to use and a bottle lasts a long time.

Love the walnut oil for the cutting , cheese, & charcuterie boards I’ve been making. It hardens and keeps the board looking nicer longer than mineral oil. Wish it came in half or gallon sizes. It would be more economical to buy that way I would hope. I go through quite alot & it would be worth it for me.

I've had another bottle of the oil for several years and used it exclusively on all of turnings that would involve food contact. Recently, I tried the old bottle oil on a newly turned bowl. After about a day, I noticed that the bowl had a somewhat rancid smell, so I sanded it down and put on oil from the new bottle. The problem was solved! Apparently after several years, even in an insulated wood shop the oil may go bad. Suggest that after 2 or more years, you do a smell test and if it has a different odor, replace it with a new bottle of oil!

I have been using this product for quite a while. A little expensive but worth it. I would recommend it to anyone that turns. A must have for salad bowls.

Per Mike Mahoney it is processed by a proprietary process that prevents allergic reactions and prevents it from spoiling. It forms a nice finish and is reasonably easy to maintain.
