“While the diameter dimensions are spot-on, and the cutting surfaces will tear your skin, they are not sharp and will simply tear their way through your wood. The cutting surfaces have deep milling gouges that indicate that the manufacturers were focused on speed and not on precision. After several attempts to "make do" with these mediocre WoodRiver bits, I ended up replacing my set with a set of Freud forstner bits at 3x the price, and am happy I did so.”

“I am a retired carpenter.These will need to be sharpened before use. Mine look used. Edges chipped. They do cut but very poor quality.”

“I was a little leary about buying this set, which came to about $80 after tax, based on some of the reviews, such as dull/nicked cutting edges and damaged boxes, but I took a chance and could not be more pleased. I carefully inspected the set and found no inferior points or edges. The box is a work of art, and I have used several of the bits already, including the 3/4, 7/8, 1.5, and 2.125 inch drill bits. They work beautifully. Perhaps the previous comments served to get Wood River to step up their game. I am the benefactor and am proud to have this set in my collection. They are definitely worth having.”
