After a couple hours of tuning it still doesn't work properly. Iron doesn't hold a bur more than a few swipes and the screws to adjust the curve of the iron are too small to be effective.

Not only was the sole deeply scratched from coarse grinding, it’s was concave - not even close to being flat. Sent it back and ordered more expensive scraper from Lee Valley.

Great right out of the box! Easily flattened a glue-up of walnut, cherry, and hard maple. Wish I had purchased one sooner.

I have spent over an hour flattening the bottom. Why do this there are other brands. This was my first visit to Woodcraft, it won't be my last but not with enthusiasm.

Wish I had seen the other reviews. The sole came with very deep machining marks that took hours to grind and polish out & flatten. The blade edge as well had deep grinder marks that again took me a hour to grind out and polish to a flat straight edge before burnishing on a burr. Once done works well but don't expect to get any sort of good results out of the box. This isn't minor honing and polishing but significant time to get this tool into any sort of shape. Ought to be labeled as a Kit to be finished by the purchaser.
