I bought a Dust Deputy Cyclone which I mounted to my own 5-gallon bucket and use in conjunction with a typical shop vacuum and six woodworking power tools. The system does an extraordinary job of separating sawdust and chips from the air stream before it enters the vacuum cleaner. I also separately purchased Oneida Air Systems' 90-degree anti-static elbows (which I do not find in Woodcraft's catalog) and installed them at the cyclone's output port and the vacuum's input, significantly reducing the length (and awkwardness) of the 2.5" vacuum hose needed to connect them. Despite consistently heavy use, I have not needed to replace a vacuum bag in years.

I bought this for my table top sander, and drill press to collect the saw dusts from both of them on my new cabinet top! The dust still collects in my vacuum cleaner anyway! Did a test with a new vacuum filter and cleaned out my vacuum cleaner container.... did the test and a lot of the saw dust made it to the vacuum cleaner! This was a waste of money! I have built my own dust collector for my table saw and it is 200% better than this waste of money! Say your money and build your own collector!!!!

I bought this and followed the installation instructions for a standard 5 gallon bucket and lid. Hardware, sealant and bucket under $10. I mounted the bucket to a wheeled plant stand, $15. The wheels add mobility and the extra weight adds stability. Now I can leave the shop vac in the corner and roll this around from station to station. Much simpler, quieter, and fewer filters used. It's payed for itself already in under a year.
