I was hoping but no joy and it isn't the rubber pads, the extrusion itself is not square. One would think Carter would wake up and fix this problem because it would be a fantastic product if the extrusion was square. I would fix the one I bought with my mill but would have to remove the rubber pads and they are glued in, not sure I could get new inserts from Carter.

Do not understand the reviews that say it isn't square? It is up to you to install and lock it down square to the blade, if it ain't square, release the magnets and fix it. I put mine on an old Craftsman 12 inch and love it. Allows me to switch blades without needing to remove the fence and the magnets hold extremely well.

Mine wasn't square either. When I put it on the saw table and checked it with my precision square there was at least a 1/16 to 3/32 gap between the square and the bottom edge of the fence. It may be due to the rubber nubs that are on the bottom of the fence, but I didn't want to tear them off to test the idea and risk not being able to return it if that didn't work.

Saw a couple of reviews that indicated the fence was not square. The fence is square, however under magnet pressure the rubber gaskets on the bottom side compress differently causing the out of square effect. This is a great magnetic fence!!

As stated, my fence was 90 to the table but when trying to set this parallel to the blade was a big hassle. I tried a variety of ways to do this and gave up. The only good thing about it was that this was my first experience with the dial magnets. They're good. The rest of the fence failed in its primary purpose.
