Bought this plane after having to make several large tenons and finally cried Uncle using just chisels and files. This tool gets the shoulder nice so I can clean up the faces with my WR Block PLane. Should have bought this long ago. The fit and finish was great, and the blade was sharp and square. I will sharpen it on my Shapton stones, but it worked just fine right out of the box! My suggestion if worried about blade squareness - take it out of the box (there is a sealed bag inside) and you can see if the blade is square before buying it. (unless buying online of course) but VERY pleased that I have this tool. Also, if you have never owned one of these before, please look at the included pamphlet. It will save many from newbie frustration!!

Very nice plane, nice design. The edge of the blade it came with is not square, how annoying.

I bought one a year or so ago. This week I finally got the reason and opportunity to use it. Works great as one could want!

Love the styling and the mechanics; will be a fine tool for years to come. Just surprised that the factory did not put a nice sharp edge on it before they sent it out. Even my Stanley #92 had an edge that was “surgicalâ€
