I was excited to get started on my glider. I bought the downloadable plans, but soon realized I have no way of printing actual size templates at home. When I called them, Woodcraft was very accommodating. They sent me a paper copy of the plans. When I started reading the plans, the promised cut list was a disappointment. There are many free plans on the internet for different projects with far better instructions, hardware lists, cut lists, and accuracy. Anyway, after purchasing the wood, I cut it to length The next task was making the templates for the pieces with curves. I got out some 1/2 inch MDF to make my first template. After getting it cut and sanded, I placed it on top of one of the boards I had pre-cut in order to trace it. The template was longer than the board I had cut! I double-checked the cut list. My cut length matched the directions. It turns out that the template was longer than the piece indicated in the directions. I guess the jokes on me. I'll definitely never get another set of plans from Woodcraft. I suggest that you don'e either.

As a novice, I'm unsure how to get a longer swing. Do I jut make the legs longer and get longer brackets? Can anyone add more specific suggestions or point out mistakes on the instructions? Would have been nice if plan had given a material list. Thanks

Built this for a mother’s day present for my wife. Dry fit everything as we went, no issues at all. It came out very nice in poplar and a few coats of urethane. Used on a covered porch. Agree with others on the short glide travel. Would build base taller and get longer glide arms if I did it again. Wife very happy with it.

This one looks better than most I saw. I agree with Jake a bit. I wish there were instructions on the placement of the glider brackets. Indeed, the swing is very short, however with a small change in the placement of lower bracket ends I was able to extend it a little. Also, I think the back needs to have a slightly greater slant to it. It sat up a little too straight for me. Nevertheless, I've had a number of compliments and got to make one more and they love it.
