Don't know why I spent so much time and energy making the wood for such a cheap piece of hardware. There is pretty much no insulation. Put ice water in it and it sweats. Put hot coffee in it and it gets cold. The lid is cheap. There is no external indication of where the mouth hole is, you have to visually look at the lid. If I make another tumbler it will not be with this kit.

I've made a number of these and the results were 'beautiful' - as stated by the recipients. The one I kept for myself does not seal well and leaks when drinking from the mug. I wonder if there is a replacement seal that could be offered to resolve this issue.? ? ?

I got this for a Christmas present. I had a great time turning the outer shell but the quality of the wood was 100 times greater than the lid. Save your money and buy a cheap travel mug somewhere else, recycle the outer portion and turn a new one. I know it is a waste but is cheaper and you get a better product.

Beautiful idea, but the contents inside drip when lid is secured and closed!

I have made at least two dozen of these travel mugs. I have done them with staves and in segmented form. They sell out quickly and I have returning customers. They are a great project.
