“Ive used 2mm pencil holders for decades and always have one in my pocket. The lead stays fast in the collet. For the kit which includes a sharpener, leads and there is also a pointer in the end cap- this is a bargain. I think I had to shorten the lead that I had from another pencil. What is nice is that you can use the side of the lead while extended to make an impression copy of an object through paper. The lead can be used for shading. The mechanical nature of the pencil is that even if the lead is like 3/8" long it still feels good in your hand and is always the came length. Never trying to work with a stubby pencil. You can use turquoise or berol or other drafting co.leads as refills and they are available as hb to 4h which is very hard. I like the pinnacle black version best.”
