I agree with the other comment about the countersink not being good enough for the screws to sit flush with the fasteners. I’m over drilling to countersinks so they will work for my project. It will work, but it’s a bother.

I have used these on two pieces of furniture and they work great. Unfortunately the figure 8 section did not size well to my standard forstner bits to had to do a bit of enlargement.

I used these on a coffee table top to make it easy to remove in case I had to disassemble and transport the piece; the table was moderately heavy. The figure eights worked well, invisible unless you got on the floor and looked. Easy to separate if necessary. Not as obvious as some knockdown fasteners or as difficult to install as others. I can see how the screws shown here could be a problem. The table was built a while ago, so perhaps better screws were shipped then. I'm planning on using them on the top of a tall display case, again in case it has to be transported. They may show but for this piece I'm not concerned about that. I would think they would be useful on any type of table top, either low or with some edge to hide the fastener.

I tried to install 6 of these fasteners on an oak table, and even though I drilled pilot holes, 3 of the screws snapped, leaving a wasteland of steel stubs buried in my table apron. I even tried installing one screw with a manual screwdriver instead of a power driver, and I snapped the screw pretty easily with my own modest strength. And even when the screws did go in properly, the countersink on the fastener is just a rounded edge, not a true countersink, so the screw heads don't sit flat.
