I just made one of these (after having the kits lying around for months) and I'm going to second some of the other reviews. The finished pen is beautiful - although it's awfully tail-heavy with the cap posted - but, as CJ says, the spring really is terribly weak, making for a very bouncy point. I actually don't mind the writing experience, but it's something I think I'd have to replace before I could consider selling. Matthew's right about the instructions being wrong - or at least confusing. Unlike him, I _do_ seem to have the two sizes of body hardware described in the instructions, although I didn't believe it until I went and checked with a micrometer (the difference is almost too subtle to notice, making me wonder why they bothered). It's made worse by the fact that the image labels both sizes as B, C, and D, making it far too easy to assume that they're identical. My last gripe with the kit is that it's challenging to predict how the pieces will align when the parts are finally assembled and screwed together - I didn't do a very good job of it, and it's going to need some thought when I build the next one - something to watch out for if you're a stickler for getting your grain or segments lined up when the cap is on or posted. Complaints aside, it IS a very nice pen, I'm quite happy with the way it came out, and I'll probably get more - it'd just be nice to see Woodcraft do a little work on squishing the bugs in the meantime.

I’ve bought a few of these pens and even though they are quite fancy they have one inherent flaw. The spring that hold the ink cartridge is too weak and allows the pen tip to withdraw into the body while writing. I’ve been able to stretch the spring which helps a lot.
