“While the lathe bed has a nicely polished finish, the extension's bed feels more like an old vinyl record. 2 coats of wax helped, but I may need to polish it at some point. The insides of the bed needed to be filed down near the connection point for the tail stock to move smoothly across the gap. Also, the directions say you need a 17mm wrench to tighten the bolts, but they're actually 16mm. Tip: clamp the tail stock across the gap to align the extension when tightening down the bolts.”
