For the price I would say this is just OK. When you have a large surface that you need vertical holes in this does OK but it is not a "Precision Tool" by any stretch of the imagination. Cons: Too much slop in the plunge mechanism. Definitely use a brad point bit and go very slowly to start. The chuck is a piece of crap. Pros: Easy to assemble Does OK drilling vertical holes.

This tool is Awesome! You can definitely drill straight and true with it. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to drill a straight hole.

I have purchased many Milescraft tools over the years and I find that they are all well made and priced right. This Drillmate is no different, sturdy and a pleasure to use, highly recommended.

In most cases, one does not know they need something until you get one. This Drill Mate from Milescraft is just one of those tools.

Bought this tool to make multiple 1” holes on 1/2” plywood. For the price, I am very pleased with it. There is smooth action of the press along the guide posts and I did not experience any binding. It was easy for me to hold the tool using the attached handle. There is noticeable play when moving the press up and down when the drill is attached, however, once the bit made contact with the wood, it drilled true. I do wish the base was a touch heavier and that the bushings holding the rails to the base were metal rather than plastic. Other than that, no complaints.

This this is a price of crayon a 6 inch hole it was almost a hole inch off. Cheap plastic parts. Pure junk. Now I'm left with non centered holes on a otherwise beautiful deck. Milescraft screwed me.

Worked great for drilling bench dog holes. Used it to drill a bunch of dog holes on my bench top. 30" x 6 ' x 2" thick Hard Maple top. Kept me straight.
