“I've been waiting for these for a while now. I cut all my dovetails and joints by hand, and although the previous Pfeil chisels were excellent, the new bevel edge is much better for getting into those tight corners. As with all Pfeil chisels, the steel is excellent quality, taking and holding a fine edge that can take some punishment. They come well polished and flat, needed virtually no back flattening, as I found when I put it through my standard sharpening regimen. The handles are a bit rough, like their predecessors, but these are classed by Pfeil as carpenter's chisels. Their bench chisels have much finer handles. Still, they take a lot of pounding without splitting, which is great as I often chop out dovetail waste rather than sawing. The super sharp edge can pare fine shavings as well, making these excellent for joinery.”
