Outstanding vise. I mounted this to my Paulk style workbench using an internal box frame of 2x4 cuts that sends the weight of the vise internally to the legs of the bench. I did not want the vise hanging from the top panel of the workbench. As to the quick release mechanism, I have never had any issues with it. I have tried to rack this vise top to bottom and left to right. If it is racking, it is not noticeable. While the vise has a "tiny" handle to tighten it, you get all the tightening pressure you would ever want because there is no racking. I attached quarter inch wood liners to the vise which was also very easy to do.

Heavy, solid, well made little vise for my bench-on-bench that I use to raise carving work up to 45" height. No more fumbling with a stool and hunching up to get leverage! The quick release is a simple mechanism with a big lever and smooth action, works great.

Having the same issues as by KK from Orem, mounted this to my work bench and I'm looking forward to many years of use with it. One problem, though, the quick release doesn't release. Is there an adjustment that can be made?
