Aquacoat has some excellent Pro grade products, including some catalyzable top coat systems, but Woodcraft will not carry these products. It's an embarrassment, and they should be carrying the Aquathane topcoat, and the waterborne lacquer products, AND in FLAT, SATIN AND SEMI-GLOSS! Ounce for ounce they are cheaper than the General products, and in my professional opinion, after using both for several years, they are SUPERIOR!

I was in a tight spot, having had to return the General Finishes Enduro sanding sealer because it was a bad can (seal failed), and it was the store's last one. The guys there said the professional finisher that used to work in the store always steered people to Aqua Coat as a sanding sealer. So it tried it on some cherry doors. Sprayed well right out of the can 1.4 tip. Two coats and 320 sanding between them. Then it came time for the glaze. I was using a General Finishes water based stain, and when sprayed, it pulled away from the sanding sealer in thousands of tiny spots. It went down with a uniform film, but then quickly developed those spots. I am confident the sealer was dry/cured, so I am only left to surmise that this product is not compatible with General Finishes products. Even the can says it doesn't guarantee compatibility. Now I know why. What a mess trying to wipe off the stain and then sand it off to get back to bare wood. I would not recommend this product unless you test it first for compatibility with your other products in your finishing schedule.
