I had 2 issues which affected the completion of this pen and will remove a star for each. 1) The fit of the end coupler was poor. It slid into the end of the blank with absolutely no resistance. It needed glue to be held in place which will cause issues if I ever want to disassemble this for any reason in the future. 2) There was no included spring in my kit. I can't attribute this to the kit itself but rather woodcraft. Maybe a customer took it or maybe it was just never in the kit from the distributor in the first place, but either way I had to take a spring from a previous pen of mine to use in this as it was inoperable otherwise. The pen is nice aesthetically and it was easy to assemble but the points above soured my experience a bit.

I bought two of these. Per instructions I was going to press the threaded coupler into .521 end of the completed blank but the coupler easily slid into the tube. Therefore I had to use glue. The other end pressed in as it should. I completed the assembly and when I went to show my wife how to replace the ink, the ink refill was stuck in the nib and broke taking it out. Store gave me a new ink refill (thank you). The second pen was opposite. The threaded coupler pressed in but the cap needed to be glued. But then, the nib end came loose and had to be glued as well. Otherwise, it’s a nice pen and assembly (should be) easy.

This pen is top rate. It has a beautiful design and curves slightly. It also feels very nice in your hand. The nib end is larger than the cap end and this gives it a very comfortable balanced feel that also looks terrific. The parts are absolutely top rate - it is my favorite pen type now; and I've made over a hundred different types. It is a rollerball and of course a smooth screw on cap. It will make a great gift or a for-sale item at I'd say at least 3times the price of the kit. Love it.
