“Cheesy design on the reverse thread side plate where the main screw threads through the back plate. Seems to me they had some designer hack that couldn’t come up with a reverse thread tap for the main screw on the back plate. Instead they came up with some reverse thread insert thats held in place with two tap screws. The back plate should be exactly the same a the front plate except reversed threads. It’s no rocket science!”

“I bought this jig almost two years ago for a project with lots of dowel joints. It went to work for me immediately and got that project and several others done nicely. Now, I've noticed some freeplay (wear) inside the smaller drill guide inserts. If Woodcraaft sells replacement inserts, I'm ready for them. Also, the "automatic centering" has gotten a bit out of alignment. But there were no instructions in the box, so I'm not sure if I should tamper with the mechanism.”

“This is a solidly built tool and accurate to use. It is made in Taiwan, not China thank goodness. The only con was, I did not receive a use instruction sheet with it. I have never used dowels before and the first time I used it incorrectly.”
