I bought two of these last year when they were running a pretty good sale. I ended up gifting one to a new aspiring woodworker and kept one. I finally assembled it this morning, there weren’t any directions in the box but, not a big deal because I had assembled a Harbor Freight roller stand a few years back. That experience was exactly what is needed if you purchase a Wood River roller stand. As far as the flippable head, it doesn’t seem to lock in place very well. I can easily turn from one side to the next without pressing or pulling. It matches what the previous review had said in regards to it not staying in place under even the lightest of weight. In my mid, it’s actually quite useless as is. I will find a way to keep it on one setting, to make it usable. The real point of this review actually has nothing to do with the poorly executed head mechanism, but EVERYTHING to do with the base. The reason I said the Harbor Freight build experience was key was because IT’S THE SAME BASE - literally, exactly, without a doubt. As much as “experiencedâ€

This product is more of a child's toy than a work tool. The unit is flimsy and can't be tightened sufficiently to make it usable. The "head" is held in place by gravity and therefore moves when you reposition it. The connection of the head to the shaft flops around like a fish and can't be stabilized. The roller heads are only 1/2" and do not roll smoothly. STRONGLY recommend against this product.

This is definitely a light duty stand. Sounds good in principal, but doesn't hold up. I was using it with large rough lumber on my large planer, and the top kept changing positions if much weight was put on it. Gave it away today to a novice woodworker who will use it to hold the end of boards off a workbench- for that it should work. Nice idea, not well executed.
