I found the tables difficult to adjust. I used a straight edge recommended. It was necessary to tighten the cams once you get the tables coplanar with the sanding belt, but tou can still move them up and down, wgich brings into question how useful they will be for preventing snipe which is the main reason for purchasing them. For the price it might be a better option to fabricate your own outfeed table.

Running table tops through the 2550 drum sander without these extension is harder to maintain parallel positioning through the sanding process than with these extensions. On the closed stand 2550, installation requires you to disassemble the conveyor belt motor and to dismount the sander from the stand, otherwise you can’t get the left outfeed handle screwed in. Getting the tables to be parallel isn’t much effort, but it isn’t a one-time tuning; there are cams that are meant to retain that parallel position when folding/unfolding the extensions, but I’ve found it isn’t the most reliable. For the price, the extensions are worth the effort. Heavy and solid
