“Once I incorporated it into my shop, it's amazing how quickly I relied on the Fastcap RCV. But here's the problem: it's unreliable. I've gone through two units in under a year. I've been woken up in the middle of the night by my shop vac turning onâ€¦ and it wouldn't shut off until I unplugged the unit from my vac. If Fastcap could create a more bulletproof product, I'd pay double, but right now, I can't recommend it.”

“The Jet DC-1100 series motor is rated 110V 11/5.5 Amps, which should be well within the peak 15 Amp capacity of this unit. I have the dust collector on a 15 Amp circuit with some lights and sometimes other small power tools, and I have never had a problem with the breaker, so I have no reason to believe the peak draw of the dust collector is higher than the 11 Amps its specifications mention. However, as soon as I turned it on using this remote, the dust collector fan twitched and that was it. One of the fuses inside the device blew. I should have just bought the more expensive Jet branded remote in the first place, even though it has the same specs!”
