“I watched a copious number of videos of this compared to the Festool MFT and at the end of the day couldnâ€™t find a reason to spend the extra money on the MFT. And so, since I already own the Kreg track saw (which I love), I purchased this ACS table system. I build mostly cabinets for myself and other house projects but mostly use the saw to break down sheet goods which is what I hoped to use the table for. Well I found out the hard way today that this ACS table is ONLY designed to run the track saw on the table in its position on the hinged track assembly, and thatâ€™s it. In other words donâ€™t be a dummy like me thinking this table is designed like the MFT where you can place the work piece anywhere on the table, set the depth stop of the saw and run it down the track (using the MDF tabletop as sacrificial material) even when not on the hinged track positionâ€¦or you cut a groove right in the t-track in the table. With the MFT you can do that, and Iâ€™ve seen lots of sacrificial cuts in random places in the one at my local Woodcraft store. I had hoped to use this ACS the same way but wonâ€™t be able to unless I remove the t-tracks (trash). Iâ€™ve now noticed that the MFT table sits a good bit higher than itâ€™s aluminum frame and I wonder if thatâ€™s so the blade depth will clear it when passing over. The ACS is designed much more flush with its frame. If I canâ€™t rip down larger stock as well as small pieces of wood then this table is nearly useless for me and Iâ€™d rather go back to cutting on foam board on my garage floor. Iâ€™m disappointed to say the least. Yes I should have common sense about not cutting the t-track (I very cautiously set my depth stop on the saw), but you donâ€™t realize this until youâ€™ve spent two hours assembling the table and the packaging is in 100 pieces. That, and nowhere in the instructions does it explain that the system was only meant to be used with the track in its position on the hinge and no place else. If Iâ€™m misunderstanding something about this system someone please let me know. Iâ€™ll be reaching out to Kreg for guidance too.”
